CSSA Purpose:
The Clean and Sober
Softball Association is a recovery based activity and organized for
"non-competitive" recreation. The function of CSSA and it's franchises is
to further our recovery through the community of softball. Our primary
purpose is to carry the message of recovery, spirituality, and hope to
alcoholics and addicts that are still suffering, and the families affected
by the addict/alcoholic. Whenever possible, we operate with respect to the
traditions and principles of 12-step recovery. Our activities create an
environment that fosters the beneficial aspects of sobriety for recovering
addicts and alcoholics, and friends & families affected by alcoholism and
addiction.

CSSA
Process:
It is the intention of the CSSA to keep competition on the field and
disagreements off of them. Rules and appeals processes are specifically laid out
in detail within the CSSA Code. In brief: Any discrepancy with very limited
exception will be handled through the appeal and complaint process. This means,
all complaints are submitted in writing to the respective League Directors. If
the action cannot be remedied within the division, the appropriate CSSA
committee will review for suitable actions. With the exception of the game
umpire, no one person has the authority to decide or interpret a ruling. All
decisions are by group conscience vote. It is the coaches duty to refrain him
(her) self and his (her) players from interrupting play when a ruling cannot be
made.
