Game Day Eligibility Rules
1) The General Eligibility Requirements: will be adhered to at all time and are the foundation of our primary purpose. (check with the website for more information).
2) Tournament Player Eligibility: Eligibility roster players' are those that were; on a CSSA roster by JUNE 30th, participated in at least 40% of CSSA League games. League tournament play does not apply toward qualification. Participation is define as follows; present and supporting their team by base coaching, keeping the scorebook, in the dug out and supporting their team. Players shall be listed in scorebook as a substitute and the coach shall have the opposing sign next to each players listed as a substitute. It shall be the full responsibility of the coach to maintain all records pertinent to player qualification.
3) Player Participation: A player may only be on one CSSA regular roster at any time during the current season. Once electing to play in division play, no player is allowed to play in any other divisional play, league, or league tournament. Unless player has legal transfer approved by eligibility.
4) League Player Pick Ups: Teams are allowed to pick up players within their division to field a legal nine player team to avoid forfeit. Teams are allowed only one casual exemption player from any classification higher. CSSA eligibility and abstinence apply at all times.
5) Tournament Player Pick Up: Teams are allowed three CSSA roster exemptions per tournament(not of the same gender). Teams are only allowed only one casual exemption player from any classification higher. CSSA eligibility and abstinence apply at all times.
6) Memorial Day Eligibility: Players must have participated in at least one league game and still be able to qualify under rule 2) Player Eligibility.
7) Official Rosters: Original rosters are due before your first league game along with the CSSA eligibility roster. Final roster deadline is June 30th or the Friday before Independence Day tournament, whichever comes first. (team rosters cannot exceed twenty players)
8) Roster Changes: Players are allowed ONE regular roster transfer per year. (Cannot be a contested roster change.) Additions and/or deletions will be submitted on the roster add/delete form and be submitted by the final roster deadline by both coaches affected by the transfer. More than one form may be necessary throughout the year. All roster changes must be submitted and be reviewed, accepted, or denied by the eligibility committee before the player is deemed eligible.
9) Hardship Roster Transfers: After final roster deadline and before July 31st of current year, a player may apply for hardship transfer. It will require validation and must be in writing. The reasons to be considered for hardship qualification must be included. All roster changes must be submitted and will be reviewed, accepted, or denied by the Eligibility and Classification Committees.
a. Hardship transfer will constitute a permanent exemption
player status.
b. Teams will be allowed only one permanent exemption player per gender on their
roster for the current season.
c. Permanent exemption players are not allowed to play for any other team for
the remainder of the year.
d. Hardship player transfers must be completed and approved by July 31st of the
current season. No player transfers will be considered after July 31st of the
current season.
